Youth week! in the woods with my boy, Lucas! 🦌 It’s raining, we’re hoping a big one steps out, and we’re working on staying quiet… apparently the deer blind is where we discuss every question he’s ever had! 🤣

One day he’ll be grown, and I’ll wish I could have these mornings and all those questions back. Rain or shine, deer or no deer, time with my son is hard to beat.

My heart is broken for the family of Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips, who was killed in the line of duty today.

Please join Victoria and I in prayer for his family, his friends, and every member of the Kentucky State Police. May God give them strength and comfort in the days ahead. We will remember Trooper Phillips and honor his service and sacrifice.

For the past several years, while I served as mayor, I was proud to welcome Brayden Scott and the Cerebral Palsy Auto Invasion truck show to Main Street.

This event brought people into London, supported our local businesses, and most importantly gave Brayden a platform to raise awareness about cerebral palsy. It was a positive event that brought our community together for a meaningful cause.

It is truly heartbreaking to learn that Brayden may not be allowed to hold the event on Main Street this year. If this decision is politically motivated because the event was supported during my administration, that is simply wrong. Brayden should never be punished or caught in the middle of political disagreements.

Public office should be used to support people not to settle scores. Whatever anyone may think of me, please do not take a meaningful community event away from Brayden and the people it inspires.

This is bigger than politics. Let Brayden have his event. This madness needs to stop!

Dolly Parton’s legacy reaches far beyond music. Through her Imagination Library, she has helped place free books into the hands of children from birth to age five including children right here in Kentucky and right here locally.

What may seem like a simple book can open a child’s imagination, strengthen a family, and begin a lifelong love of learning. That kind of generosity creates an impact that will be felt for generations.

From one proud Kentuckian, father, and grandfather: Thank you, Dolly, for believing in our children and investing in their future. Your heart has always been as remarkable as your talent.

This morning was another good one in the garden. 🌽🫛

Lucas harvested corn and green beans, and we ended up filling five 5-gallon buckets of fresh green beans! I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work he’s put into this garden. Watching him learn the value of hard work, patience, and enjoying the rewards of it all has been a blessing.
