Quartz Mountain State Park For generations, families have escaped to the beautiful shores of Lake Altus-Lugert for outdoor adventure.

From exploring mountains to strolling sandy beaches, Quartz Mountain has something for everyone! In addition to water sports, our lake is primarily used for irrigation. Before heading to the park, guests are invited to check current lake levels at this link -

The North Fork has gone down but is still flowing steadily into the lake! The wildlife are loving it too! Saw a coyote, osprey, seagulls, pelicans, killdeer, and so much more! There were two otters but they were too fast to catch on camera.

Due to low temperatures, the monarch tagging this Saturday will begin at 12 pm instead of 9:30 am.

And to think that this river was bone dry last week! This is all flowing into the lake.
More water to come as the rain that fell north of us makes its way down.
