Kiwanis Long Beach CA The Kiwanis Club of Long Beach, founded in 1919, has always maintained a strong and respected leadership with the city.

Many members are small business owners, representatives of large corporations, non-profit leaders, educators, individuals, retirees, moms, dads and anyone with a spirit of altruism and a desire to help make the community a better place by improving the lives of children and youth.

Through hands-on service projects and financial grants, the Kiwanis Club strives to enrich the lives of our community children. Through the many partnerships with organizations who also focus on service projects, we support families in need, the physically challenged, school youth programs and more. Kiwanis provides mentor programs and career enrichment to high school Kiwanis "Key Clubs" and the Circle "K" college programs which teach service and leadership skills.

Sue Baker and Rick Pinson chaperoned Kiwanis Key Club students at Browning High School. About 50 students are learning cheers to compete with other divisions in fun cheer competitions. The first competition is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th at the Key Club Regional Training Conference. Then the BIG competition is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th at Magic Mountain. These competitions are fun, but winning is very serious and important to the students. They have two more practices before the first competition and an additional three after the regional conference before the Magic Mountain trip. We can always use the support of chaperones this time of year!

Monica LaBounty and Rick Pinson chaperoned the Key club Service Project on Sunday, October11th, supporting the Long Beach Marathon in Downtown Long Beach.

16 key club students helped with the breakdown and clean up.
Over 29,000 runners/walkers participated in the full and half marathon. The weather cooperated and the event coordinator was very complimentary about the work of our keys.

2026 Kiwanis Kids and Cops was held at Stephen's Middle School yesterday and was fun for over 600 students and Long Beach Police. On Sunday, September 20, 27 of our Division 13 South Key Club students, led by Lt. Governor Zachi Ozoude, volunteered at the Long Beach Aloha Run at the Marina Green Park downtown.

Our students helped out with tasks ranging from the 5am setup, to various support tasks for the course/participants to the early afternoon clean up.

The sponsor of the event, Go Beyond Events, is different in that they actively recruit youth groups like our Key Clubs to volunteer and then donate to their designated cause based on the number of volunteers provided. The Aloha Run has become an annual event for our Keys.
