Please don’t feed geese (especially young geese) bread or human food as it can cause serious health issues like angel wing syndrome, which leaves them unable to fly. thank you for supporting our local wildlife! take photos from afar :)

We will be hosting another Open Hours at the Queens Landing Boathouse & Environmental Center on May 28th from 2:30-4:30PM!

Queens Landing opens its doors monthly to the community to learn about animals from the nearby waterways, explore our new Macroscope, and participate in a pollinator themed craft and science activity.

This month our program is focusing on pollinators! We will do butterfly themed potato stamps, bee coloring pages, flowers under the macroscope so we can look at the anatomy of plants. We have also been given some crab shells and horseshoe crab shells to look at under our Macroscope which allows us to see everything up close! We will also be talking about the water quality testing that we have been doing at Queens Landing.

Hunters Point Park Conservancy and Newtown Creek Alliance will have Environmental Educators facilitating the two-hour open house, so bring your park- and waterway-related questions!
