🚨 INCIDENT UPDATE: Vehicle Crash into Structure 🚨

Rescue & Extrication: Medic 5 (M5) and Engine 5 (E5) arrived first on scene to find an occupant trapped inside the vehicle. Truck 5 (TK5) and E5 worked quickly and efficiently to safely extricate the victim.

Medical Transport: Medic 5 transported the patient to the hospital with Priority 1 injuries.

Structural Stabilization: Due to significant damage caused by the vehicle impact, Technical Rescue 2 (TR2), Engine 2 (E2), Medic 2 (M2), and Training 51 (T51) responded to shore up and stabilize the home.

A total of 16 dedicated personnel responded to this incident, working seamlessly together to manage medical care, extrication, and structural safety all at once.

Thank you to all our crews for their rapid response and teamwork on the scene.

As severe weather threatens our state this week, the State of Texas has requested our assistance. Longview Fire is always ready to step up and help our fellow Texans in a time of need.

We have officially activated and deployed dedicated Longview Fire members to support the following specialized state response teams:

TX TF-1 (Texas Task Force 1)

TIFMAS (Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System)

EMTF (Emergency Medical Task Force)

A Note to Our Community: While our members are deployed to help across the state, please rest assured that our staffing and emergency response capabilities right here in Longview remain fully intact. Protecting our home city is always our top priority.

Today, the Longview Fire Department joins the fire service family across Texas in mourning the tragic loss of a firefighter from Odessa Fire Rescue.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and fellow firefighters of the fallen hero, as well as the two firefighters who were seriously injured and continue their fight to recover.

The fire service is a brotherhood built on sacrifice, service, and commitment to one another. When tragedy strikes one department, it is felt by all of us. While no words can ease the pain of this loss, we want Odessa Fire Rescue to know that Longview stands with you during this difficult time.

We honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of your fallen firefighter and keep all those affected in our prayers.

Rest in peace, brother. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Up, up, and away! 🎈 We had a fantastic time this morning at the Longview Mall for the Great Texas Balloon Race (GTBR) kickoff! A huge shoutout to our E6 crew and BC2 for attending, and getting to check out "Firedog"—the amazing special-shaped hot air balloon paying tribute to firefighters! 🐕🔥

Thank you to the Longview Mall for providing the display area, and to Origin Bank for providing delicious breakfast treats for the kids! 🍩📸 It was a beautiful morning of community, photos, and fun.

Community outreach starts early! Today, the crew of Longview Fire Engine 4 visited Primary Colors Preschool for a hands-on truck demonstration.

Investing time in our local youth not only teaches vital fire safety skills but also builds lasting trust within our community. Thank you to the staff and students at Primary Colors for a fantastic afternoon! 🚒🚒

Battalion Chief Dusty Burks has earned his 'Certified Fire Executive' professional designation from the Texas Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Burks completed the 2-year program, which consisted of classroom time, panel interviews, a research paper, and a final presentation.

Congrats to Chief Burks, CFE.
