Seminole County Democratic Party Help us get Democrats elected up and down the ballot in Seminole County. https://linktr.ee/semdems Watch the featured story on WESH 2 News.

In June of 2021, Seminole County officially became blue by voter registration numbers according to the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections. In November 2020 Seminole County made history by going blue for the first time since 1948, and in June 2021 became the Majority Party in Seminole County! The news of this historic flip travelled fast and several news outlet quickly picked up on the story. Although Seminole County went blue, Florida ultimately went red for Donald Trump. We were able to retain Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy to her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, and we also retained Representative Joy Goff-Marcil to the Florida House. Longtime SemDems member Jennifer Webb was elected to the Seminole County Soil and Water Commission, and local Democratic activist Chad Albritton was elected to the Casselberry City Commission. Even with these wins, we took some very hard losses down ballot. Despite the win for Biden and the most-robust voter outreach plan the Seminole County Democratic Party has ever seen, we still clearly have plenty of work to do. We will continue to fight to get more Democrats elected in the coming election cycles, but we need your help to make that happen! View our calendar for upcoming events. CHANGES IN SEMINOLE
Back in 2018 Seminole County went blue for the first time for state-wide offices. We flipped 1 county school board seat blue, as well as House District 30, but we still fell just shy of flipping 2 of our 3 House Districts. Our outstanding efforts made a splash in both local and national news, including with the Washington Post, New York Times, NBC News, Florida Politics, and the Orlando Sentinel. We have learned a lot over these past couple years, and we have become an efficient “blue wave” machine. We finally tipped the scale in registered voters in Seminole County in 2021 -- but we need your help to secure our future and get Democrats elected! GET INVOLVED

This is the only argument you probably need to vote NO on Amendment 3.

If the folks who helped get it on the ballot are having second thoughts, maybe you aught to reconsider it too.

And vote NO on Amendments 1 and 2 as well. Check out our voter guide at SemDems.com/vote for more.

Florida’s Senate president helped put Amendment 3 on the ballot. Now he’s urging voters to reject it, warning the property tax cuts would gut essential services in rural communities. Full story: bit.ly/4dNS94y

A vote for David Jolly for governor is a vote to save our rural lands.

A vote for all of our candidates up and down the ballot is a vote to save our rural lands.

The New York investors lobbying for legislation that would make it much easier to develop rural areas of Florida just gave $100,000 to Byron Donalds.

The six-figure gift to the Republican nominee for governor — deposited three weeks before Election Day — is yet another sign that supporters of the so-called “Blue Ribbon Projects” bill are gearing up for another big lobbying battle in Tallahassee after the election.

The investors pushing the bill — which would essentially force local governments to approve urban-style developments on very large tracts of land — have also doled out more than $100,000 in recent weeks to key Republican lawmakers and legislative candidates around the state.

The donations have all been made through a corporate entity called Jax-Palatka Farms LLC. Court records show the company is controlled by Greg Alexander, a partner at Ruane Cunniff, a Manhattan investment firm that manages hedge funds, mutual funds and other financial vehicles.

Jax-Palatka Farms is also one of more than two dozen limited liability companies connected to Alexander and Ruane Cunniff that have been used to quietly acquire more than 80,000 acres of land across north Florida.

It's not irrational to wonder how much of a difference your vote could actually make in any given election.

But if your assumption is that your vote could never make any difference whatsoever, consider the Bradenton Beach Mayoral election of 2015, an election that ended in a dead-even tie.

The further down your ballot you go, the more likely that race could be decided by smaller margins of fewer and fewer votes.

So if you're still wondering whether or not you're going to vote this year, don't just think about the state-wide top of the ticket races. Consider the down ballot races as well: the city elections, county commission, state legislature....these are the races where your vote carries the biggest weight.
