The Five Points 50/25 is coming up fast! Monday, October 12, is the last day to register and guarantee your official racer t-shirt. We won’t be printing extras this year, so make sure to sign up before the deadline!

Race details:
🚵 Choose between the 25 or 50 mile race course through Lula Lake’s protected land
🍔 Food and drinks provided for racers and their crews all weekend long
⛺️ Optional camping Friday and Saturday night (registration required)
🚲 A kids’ fun ride will take place Saturday at 10:30 am! Registration required

Happy fall! October is packed with opportunities to get outside and enjoy the tranquility of Lula Lake’s protected properties! 🍁

Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll during one of our public access days (new date added for Fall Break), getting ready for our fall races with a group mountain bike ride or course preview run, or come out and paint in a beautiful setting, there’s plenty of chances to visit this month!

The Five Points 50 Kids’ Fun Ride is back!

Last year, we teamed up with SORBA-Chattanooga and HANDUP to create the first-ever kids’ fun ride course at the Five Points 50 and we’re bringing it back on Oct. 24!

Once the adult racers take off, it’s the kiddos’ turn! We’ll have a fun, kid-friendly course set up for young riders to get out there, ride, and be part of the Five Points 50 action! 🚵

🎟️ Registrstion: $15 as an add-on through the Five Points 50 registration page (find it at lulalake.org/events)
💵 Day-of registration: $20

Bring the while family and let the kids get in on the fun!

It finally feels like fall here on Lookout Mountain! With crisp mornings setting in and the first week of fall officially here, there’s no better time to get outside and explore Lula Lake Land Trust.

There are still plenty of spots available for tomorrow’s Open Gate Day (Sunday, Sept 27) and next weekend’s Open Gate Days (Oct. 3-4). Come experience the trails, waterfalls, and protected forests at our Core Preserve while you can!

The Five Points 50 is back October 24, and we need all hands on deck for Chattanooga’s premier mountain bike race and one of Lula Lake’s biggest fundraisers of the year!

Volunteer duties and shifts vary and include everything from aid stations, being a course marshal, course sweep, to parking, food service, and more. Plus, volunteers get some pretty great perks: free camping, food, drinks, and live music all weekend!

The Five Points 50 is back October 24! Chattanooga’s oldest mountain bike race has become a staple in the local cycling community while raising vital funds to support Lula Lake’s conservation work.

A huge thank you to our friends at HOKA and Gearhead Outfitters for coming out to Lula Lake yet again and putting in the work on the trails! ⛏️

As part of their Trail Blazer partnership, their teams return each year to give back to the trails that make this race possible. Last Wednesday, they helped us build a new two mile loop in our Moonshine trail system, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their continued support.

HOKA and Gearhead have been incredible partners since 2024, and we’re excited to have them back for this year’s Trail Blazer 10K, Half Marathon, & 50K on November 14!

This Thursday, join us for a guided birding hike at Lula Lake and discover the tools, techniques, and resources to become a more confident birder. We’ll cover helpful digital tools for identifying and recording bird sightings, share information about local birding hotspots and upcoming regional events, and discuss best practices for birding ethically on both public and private lands.

We’ll also provide tips on using binoculars and spotting scopes, including how and when to use each. Whether you’re new to birding or have more experience, the depth of the program can be tailored to the group’s interests and skill level.

Signed up for the Five Points 50 on October 24? Our partners at 1885grill chickamauga and The Feed Table & Tavern have you covered for meals all weekend long!

Registered racers and their family and crew can enjoy the food throughout the weekend, with dinner included for everyone who signs up for camping. Check out the menu and come hungry!

We’ll also have live music, a kids’ race, and plenty of cold b**r!
