The goal of the DDOC at Saint Francis University is to continue the work of Francis of Assisi and Do

Since 1981, following in the steps of our namesake Dorothy Day, the Dorothy Day Outreach Center believes that hospitality is the key to serving others. Our mission as the social outreach division of Saint Francis University is to educate the University students in issues of social concern and justice and to involve them in volunteer service through various programs on campus and in the local communities. The Dorothy Day Outreach Center serves the community and continues to welcome all who come to its door treating everyone with dignity and respect.

With a food pantry and professional clothing closet, Mary's Mantle will help students meet everyday needs and step confidently into opportunities-from internships to job interviews and beyond.

We had R.E.D. Day success here at the Center today. A huge thank you to these wonderful men from Phi Upsilon who gave their time to help us! ❤️ Their kindness, willingness to serve, and generous hearts are a beautiful reminder that the future is bright!

Fine Arts presents! Empty Bowls - now til 3pm, come by the CFFAC, buy a hand glazed bowl for 15$ and get free ice cream! Proceeds benefit the Dorothy Day Center. (Lisa Beiswenger, holding down the ice cream fort!)

Thanks to our wonderful community, our volunteers from the SFU Public Health Club and Alta Via had lots to sort today. We are forever grateful for the donations received and our amazing volunteers!

Who do we serve? 💙

Sometimes people ask who is eligible to receive food from the Dorothy Day Outreach Center.

Our food pantry serves individuals and families who live within our service area and meet the USDA income guidelines- meaning be at or BELOW the number listed. We've attached our current eligibility information to help answer those questions.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please know that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. We are here to serve our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and respect.

If you're unsure whether you qualify, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd be happy to help determine your eligibility.

We had wonderful volunteers today at the center! They were preparing for next week’s distribution. It was a great way to celebrate National Food Bank Day.
