Foothill-De Anza Officers recently responded to an incident at De Anza College following a report of a suspicious person on campus.

Officers discovered a sword and a dirk/dagger among the individual's belongings. Through professional communication, teamwork, and de-escalation, officers were able to safely take the individual into custody for weapons on campus violation. The individual was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Campus officers worked together, stayed calm, used sound judgment and de-escalation skills to bring a potentially dangerous situation to a safe, peaceful conclusion. Great work! 🚔

Outstanding Work! 👏 Every few months, we take the opportunity to recognize members of our team who go above and beyond in their service to our campus community.

This quarter, we’re proud to recognize Officer Solorio and CSO Choy for their outstanding work and dedication. 🌟

Ofc Solorio was recognized for proactive police work during a traffic stop on campus earlier this year that resulted in illegal drugs and weapons being removed from our campus, helping make our community safer.

CSO Choy continues to set a great example through his professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. He consistently approaches his work with care and ensures every task is handled thoroughly and completely.

Their professionalism, hard work, and commitment to serving our students, faculty, staff, and visitors do not go unnoticed. Thank you to them and to all of our team members for the work they do every day to help keep our campuses safe. 👏

Proactive Patrol Leads to Felony Arrest 🚔 While on routine patrol during a busy Flea Market event at De Anza College, our officers noticed an individual acting suspiciously on campus and made contact.

A records check revealed the individual was a PC 290 registrant who was out of compliance and had an outstanding felony warrant. During the subsequent investigation and search, officers located an axe, suspected methamphetamine and he**in, loaded hypodermic needles, and drug paraphernalia.

The individual was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on multiple drug, weapons, and warrant-related charges.

This is another great example of our officers staying alert and taking proactive steps to help keep our campus community safe.

💙Safely Reunited with Family

On August 21, Officer Navarro contacted a woman near De Anza College who appeared to be in need of assistance. Fire and EMS also responded and ensured she was okay.

During their investigation, officers discovered she had been reported missing from San Jose since June 29, two months earlier.

Officers worked to identify family members and located the woman’s sister. We’re happy to share that she was safely reunited with her sister and continues to be with family.

Sometimes making a difference means taking a little extra time, following the information wherever it leads, and making sure someone gets home safely.

Their memory and sacrifice remain forever in our hearts. We remember, we honor them, and we will never forget. 🇺🇸

FINALLY! 🚓 It’s been a long road, but we’re excited to officially introduce our new patrol fleet!

For the first time in nearly a decade, our officers are hitting the road with a new lineup of patrol vehicles. They aren’t just a fresh new look, they provide our officers with safer, more reliable, and updated equipment to better serve our campus community.

A HUGE thank you to the Foothill-DeAnza Community College District for supporting this much-needed investment in public safety. 💙

A lot of planning, coordination and patience went into getting these vehicles from order to patrol ready and we couldn’t be happier to finally see them on the road! 🚔

This past week Officer Thomas conducted a traffic stop near De Anza College for an expired vehicle registration.

During the stop Officer Thomas learned the driver was on searchable probation. With the help of Officer Navarro, a search of the vehicle was conducted, and a quantity of cannabis, multiple flavored ni****ne vapes, and pre-rolled cannabis joints were located.

The driver had a prior history involving possession and sales, including selling to minors, as well as a history of possessing illegal fi****ms and fi***rm manufacturing.

The driver was booked into county jail for a felony probation violation and possession with intent to sell with a prior conviction.
