Behind every survivor who finds safety is someone who answered the call.

This October, for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m honoring the advocates, counselors, shelter staff, and service providers across across who show up every day for families in crisis, often with limited resources and little recognition. Their work saves lives.

In honor of their work, we introduced a motion calling on the personnel department, LAPD, and the community investment department to work together to strengthen the city’s approach to domestic violence and intimate partner violence training for city employees and managers
