Take a peek at the amazing work of UCLA Stress Lab member Lauren Kim’s poster from the 2023 Association for Psychological Sciences event. Check out her research on “Longitudinal Trajectories of Internalizing Symptoms During the Transition to College” and the extent to which adverse childhood experiences and perceived stigma of mental illness predicted the trajectory of anxiety and depressive symptoms in incoming first-year undergraduate students at UCLA.

Great work to CAL STAR Network member Sutapa Goswami, who recently presented at her first international conference in Washington D.C. on the “cross-cultural differences in perceptions of emotional abuse”. Her presentation was a preliminary analysis of data collected from various parts of the world, namely India, Vietnam, and the United States.

Congratulations to CAL STAR Network undergraduate Ritika Prasad on completing her Neuroscience Poster presentation on “How early life experiences shape our responses to reward and punishment!” Take a peek into the research and explore the findings on how increased levels of childhood adversity were associated with increased sensitivity to reward and to punishment or the different impacts of various subtypes of adversity.
