In cooperation with the local Business Improvement District (B.I.D.) and other chambers of commerce the main intention is to focus on job creation. As a licensed real estate appraiser and broker, Chamber President Perron is commissioning a report on Base Jobs - jobs that have a multiplier effect within the local economy. Base jobs are jobs that are proven to carry such weight and importance that for every new base job as many as 6-8 ADDITIONAL NEW JOBS will be created and available to be filled by our residents. Perron, "We already have the infrastructure in place to make this a reality. With our local Kaiser Permanente and the Children's Hospital and their existing base jobs, East Hollywood is geared to focus on the businesses that will multiply our employment opportunities with more base jobs in education, tourism, health care and the entertainment industry. Every time a dollar comes into our neighborhoods from out of state and especially other nations, as much as eight dollars follow it into our cash registers and into peoples pockets. By coming together to identify strong enterprise and recognize our true talents, it will certainly become more obvious that the path to prosperity includes dreams. Dreams brought us the movies and created Hollywood. Dreams are what will bring the next wave of economic strength. It will be intelligent design, creativity and brainpower that will deliver the champions of our future. The challenges we confront give us the strengths that our children will inherit - and this in turn will bring joy and success to our homes and our families".
