It’s been great to spend time (and money) at meeting constituents and share the work my office does in SD 20.

Summer is here and SUN Bucks are back to help children who may not have access to school lunches anymore! California is sending $120 to each eligible child on a SUN Bucks card to buy groceries.
Most eligible children will get SUN Bucks automatically, but some will need to apply. So, be sure to apply by August 31st either online at www.cdss.ca.gov/sun-bucks or at school.
This happens EVERY time I come back to the District Office 🤨
All jokes aside, come by to my District Office located in Van Nuys if you ever need any constituent services. And even though I’m not there often since I’m up in Sacramento for session, my team is ready to help! (When they’re not fooling around)
Alright everyone, we are in part THREE of my series breaking down the Budget process in CA. The May Revision is where California’s budget conversation gets real. Updated revenues, revised proposals, and tough negotiations all shape what happens before the June 15th deadline.
Here’s what the means and why it matters in our Budget 101 series.
This morning volunteers as young as 4 gathered together in honor of what this weekend actually means. We payed tribute to our buried brothers and sisters and spoke their names to bring life back into their memories so that they may never be forgotten. The has been leading this beautiful tradition for 20 years now. This weekend I am especially reminded of the cost that came with our freedom.
See you all out in the community this weekend, I have a packed schedule. Don’t worry, he’s okay (no DR was hurt in the making of this video) AND we’re always ready to be in community with Senate District 20!
These past two days, I have spent 13 hours combing through the Governor’s May Revise Budget cuts in Sub 3: Health and Human Services subcommittee. I’m tired and frustrated but we have to continue to fight to protect services for people.
The Senate Budget Plan proposed a balanced budget without any cuts that could impact our most vulnerable Californians and also slashes the structural deficit by 50%. Our Senate leadership will continue to advocate for 3 party negotiations that come back with the best plan possible moving forward.
