Free food, friends and fun! Kids and teens can get free lunches all summer long. Los Angeles City Parks offers free lunches to youth ages 1 to 18* at over 96 parks starting June 12 through July 31, 2026.

A sea of orange filled the area recently as Caltrans District 7 workers gathered for their annual memorial. The moving event honored 32 crew members who tragically lost their lives while keeping Los Angeles highways safe.

In a district where motorists travel 99 million miles every day, road crews face constant danger. These dedicated workers repair potholes, fences, and guardrails to ensure the traveling public stays safe. However, they face extreme risks from fast traffic, hazardous conditions, and distracted drivers.

Los Angeles fire stations recently opened their doors to celebrate community connection and inspire the next generation of local heroes.

For Fire Service Day, 104 Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) stations welcomed the public for an exclusive look at daily operations. Families met local firefighters, explored massive rescue trucks, and learned vital safety skills. The interactive event also featured key neighborhood safety groups, including the LA Port Police and the Community Emergency Response Team.
