🏡 National Homeownership Month reminds us that homeownership is one of the most powerful tools for building stability, wealth, and generational legacy.

For many wildfire survivors across Los Angeles County, the path back home is still unfolding. Through the Rebuilding & Recovery Workshops, NHS of Los Angeles County and the Restore the Legacy LA Coalition are helping families navigate the rebuilding process with trusted resources and expert guidance.

Whether it’s interim housing support, construction management, contractor selection, real estate services, or estate planning assistance, our mission is to help families preserve homeownership and return home stronger than before.

💛 “We want to be there the day you turn the key.”

This National Homeownership Month, we’re celebrating the resilience of homeowners and standing beside families as they rebuild not only their homes, but their futures.

As Jee Lee, Executive Director of The Shalom Center, shared, “We try to help them make their dreams come true. Watching that mindset change is incredibly rewarding.”

At NHS, success isn’t measured simply by homes purchased, but by families empowered, communities strengthened, and legacies created.

Homeownership starts with possibility—and grows into legacy.

One of the guiding principles championed by NHS of Los Angeles County President & CEO Lori Gay is that every family deserves the opportunity to build stability, wealth, and a future through homeownership.

🏡 Homeownership is more than buying a house—it’s building a legacy.

For Yun Kyoung Yang and Ki Hyun Yang, the Greenline Home Program helped turn the dream of homeownership into reality. After completing the program and working with NHS counselors, they took an important step toward long-term stability and financial confidence.

Their story reflects what we see every day: homeownership changes lives.

And they’re not alone.

When Chris Martinez first saw our Greenline Home Program post on Facebook, he thought it sounded “too good to be true.” After completing NHS’s FasTrak homebuyer education course and working with a HUD-certified housing counselor, Chris purchased a 3-bedroom home in Los Angeles.

Through the Greenline Home Program, eligible first-time homebuyers may receive up to $35,000 in down payment or closing cost assistance.

As Chris shared:
“I don’t want them to struggle. I want to build a legacy for my family.”
