May is a significant month for the law enforcement profession. We honor, remember and reflect on the service and sacrifice of our fallen brothers and sisters during local and national peace officer memorial ceremonies, while also recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month by emphasizing the importance of first responders’ mental, physical and emotional well-being. It is a time to show up for one another, understand how mental health impacts everyone in our communities, break the stigma of asking for help, and offer support to the loved ones and colleagues who need it.
