Happy Sweden National Day! 🇸🇪
June 6 marks an important chapter in Swedish history — celebrating Gustav Vasa’s election as king in 1523 and the foundations of modern Sweden through the constitutions of 1809 and 1974. A national holiday in Sweden since 2005 ✨

Viking Wellness in Sweden- a centuries-old way of feeling good. Sweden’s approach to well-being is not a modern concept — it is a living tradition. Rooted in Viking-Age practices of hot and cold bathing, open-fire cooking, and a deep connection to nature, Swedish wellness has been shaped over more than a thousand years.
Today, destinations such as Silva Spa at Trakt Forest Hotel, Uppvallens Fäbod, and the farm retreat at Sibbjäns on Gotland invite visitors to experience this heritage firsthand — recognized globally as one of 2026’s leading travel trends.
Viking wellness is not simply a place to visit. It is a way of life. 🌲 🌻

Say hello to the wood anemone — Sweden’s cheerful little wildflower that basically sprints out of the ground every spring! And when is spring, you ask? Well, that depends on where you are in Sweden... it could be as early as February or as fashionably late as June. Sweden loves its four seasons, and they all show up in roughly equal measure — but spring is a star of the show, when trees and plants wake up from their winter nap and burst into bloom. 🌸✨

Happy Mother’s Day in the USA! 💐

Tomorrow May 9th, 2026 is Europe Day! 🇪🇺 In January 1995, Sweden – along with Finland and Austria – became a member of the EU. Over three decades later, the impact of that decision continues to shape our country.
Here are 5 notable ways that the EU membership has made a difference:
🎓 More than 105,000 Swedes have studied across the EU thanks to Erasmus+, the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
🚆 Cooperation in the Schengen Area – which comprises 25 EU Member States and four non-EU countries – has boosted trade and tourism.
🧳Free movement on the labor market has made it easier for Swedish companies to recruit workers from other EU member countries.
🏞️The common EU legislation has helped reduce air pollution in Sweden through regulations on fuel quality, vehicle standards, and environmental laws both for industries and the energy sector.
💶 Global trade is vital to Sweden, and the EU has ensured access to an increasing number of free trade agreements with countries around the world.
Sweden has kept its own currency, the Swedish Krona (SEK). Swedish is one of the EU’s 24 official languages.
The history of the European Union began with the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950. The declaration was a plan aiming to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe.

Glad Valborg! Happy Walpurgis eve! 🔥
Swedes have been celebrating Walpurgis Eve with bonfires since the 15th century. While a Christian tradition celebrated on March 30th, it tied in to other pre-Christian traditions such as welcoming the spring. During the last century it has been followed by worker’s manifestations on May 1st in Sweden.
