Warrior Games Welcome to the official Warrior Games page, where you’ll find coverage on the adaptive sporting event for wounded, ill, and injured service members.

The Department of Defense Warrior Games is an annual event, first held in 2010, that celebrates the resiliency and dedication of wounded, ill, and injured active duty and veteran U.S. military service members. Hundreds of elite athletes, including those from international allied nations, compete in adaptive sporting events such as wheelchair basketball, cycling, indoor rowing, and wheelchair rugby, among others. The DoD Warrior Games serve as a way to enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded warriors by providing them exposure to adaptive sports. Participation in the Warrior Games represents the culmination of a service member’s involvement in an adaptive sports program and demonstrates the incredible potential of wounded warriors through competitive sports.

Warrior Wednesday💪
For Sergeant First Class David Hong, the Warrior Games were about more than competition; they were about community. While undergoing treatment for stage IV colon cancer, Sergeant First Class Hong trained through more than 30 rounds of chemotherapy and went on to represent Team Army at the 2025 and 2026 Warrior Games. “It’s not about medaling; it’s about being part of that community.”
This , we celebrate his resilience, determination, and continued commitment to serving others. 🇺🇸

This World Mental Health Day, we recognize the strength it takes to heal, to ask for help, and to keep moving forward. 💚
For the Warrior Games community, recovery is about more than physical strength. It’s about building resilience, finding connection, and knowing you never have to face the journey alone.

Warrior Wednesday💪
For Technical Sergeant Brian Milner of Team SOCOM, competition is about more than crossing the finish line. Different branches may compete against one another, but the camaraderie runs deeper than the competition. It’s about pushing each other, growing together, and honoring the journey that brought each warrior to the Games.

Behind every great competitor is a coach who sees potential, pushes limits, and believes in them every step of the way. 💪This National Coaches Day, we celebrate the coaches who challenge, encourage, and help our Warrior Games competitors discover just how much is possible. Thank you, Coaches! 🇺🇸
