Washington State Guard Soldiers once again participated in the Puget Sound Honor Flight departure from SEA Airport on 18 April 2026. Honor Flight Network is a national organization that transports US Armed Forces Veterans for a long weekend tour of Washington DC. Our Soldiers helped prepare the Veterans and their travel companion Guardians for departure, and will welcome them home upon return.

Civil Air Patrol Becomes Official Division of Washington Military Department
A new law signed March 14, 2026, by Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson formally integrates the Washington Wing of the Civil Air Patrol into the Washington Military Department as a dedicated division.

The Washington State Guard staffed an information table at the Mike & Key ham radio event at the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup on Saturday, 7 March. We reconnected with many of our emergency communication partners and talked with several prospective new members. "When all else fails, ham radio works."

Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks on your outstanding season and Super Bowl LX victory. We look forward to the victory parade today and recall the two times our WSG Color Guard posted the Colors at Seahawks home games at Lumen Field, on 5 OCT and 9 NOV 2025.

Today The National Guard celebrates its 389th birthday! Since 1636, the National Guard has been support our states and nation.
Currently more than 300 members are supporting flood relief and response efforts in Skagit and Snohomish County, while another 500 are deployed around the world supporting federal missions.
We are your friends, neighbors, co-workers, students and teachers. We come from all walks of life and serve our neighbors when called.
