On June 17, 2023, 3:37 a.m., a newer model Porsche Taycan, was travelling northbound on Main Street and was approaching 4th Street. The Porsche drifted to the left and crashed into two parked vehicles. After regaining control of the vehicle, the driver fled the scene by driving eastbound on 4th Street from Main Street. The Porsche was last seen fleeing southbound Wall Street from 4th Street.
Witnesses described the driver as a male Asian. The Porsche is an electrical vehicle, it will have front end damage, and damaged to the left front rim.
Video of the hit-and-run vehicle is posted on Central Traffic’s social media accounts: YouTube “LAPD Central Traffic,” Twitter , Instagram
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. The public is also reminded that as pedestrians, they should exercise caution when crossing streets, obey traffic lights, cross within marked crosswalks, and obey the rules of the road.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $1,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
If anyone has information regarding the vehicle and the driver, please contact Detective Juan Campos, Central Traffic Detectives at (213) 833-3713, or email him at [email protected], or contact the Central Traffic Division Watch Commander at (213) 833-3746 during weekends and off-hours or telephone the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247).
