A Woman's Journey as an Army Reservist Navigating War.

With deep sorrow, we say farewell to Pearl Harbor survivor George W. Blake, a soldier who stood in the fire of history on that fateful morning of December 7, 1941. Under a sky filled with flames and chaos, he held his ground as America’s innocence burned away, and its resolve was born. For decades after, he carried the memory of those who never came home, not as a burden, but as a sacred duty. Today, his watch has ended, and he joins his 1,177 fallen brothers in eternal peace. We remember his courage, his humility, and the quiet strength of a man who never stopped honoring the day that changed the world.🕊️🇺🇸⚓

A member of Gaddafi’s personal female bodyguards, part of the “Revolutionary Nuns”, Libya.

This photograph shows one of Muammar Gaddafi’s famous female bodyguards, often referred to as the “Revolutionary Nuns” or “Amazonian Guard.” These women were handpicked by the Libyan dictator to serve as his elite personal security detail, a mix of political statement and propaganda. Gaddafi claimed they symbolized his commitment to women’s equality in the Arab world, but their presence also reinforced his image of unpredictability and absolute control. Each member was required to take a vow of chastity, undergo rigorous military training, and pledge loyalty to Gaddafi alone.

Dressed in striking uniforms, sometimes traditional attire, other times military fatigues, the women became part of his carefully cultivated persona on the world stage.
While admired by some as a symbol of female empowerment in a male-dominated region, others viewed their role as exploitative and theatrical, designed to elevate Gaddafi’s cult of personality rather than genuinely advance women’s rights. Their legacy remains controversial today.
