When you donate in honor of a father, grandfather, or mentor in your life, your gift supports programs like NA’AMAT USA’s Abba Center, a groundbreaking initiative in Israel that helps men become emotionally present, engaged fathers.



Through one-on-one counseling, group workshops, and guidance during parenting challenges like divorce, bereavement, and reintegration after military service, the program provides men with the tools they need to be caring partners and fathers, and works to prevent domestic violence before it starts.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘂𝗲𝗿:
Mitzvah held a Cinco de Mayo party on May 4. We ate chips and dips, enchiladas, Tres Leches cake, caramel flan and churros. Breaking the pinata gave us a chance to let out all our aggression.

We warmly congratulate attorney Rula Zahalka on her appointment as the second woman in history to serve as a Qadi (Judge) in Israel’s Muslim Sharia Courts.

Her appointment is a meaningful step forward for women’s representation in religious judicial leadership and a powerful reminder of why opening doors matters.

At NA’AMAT, we continue to hope for a future in which matters of marriage and divorce are not determined exclusively by religious courts. But until then, every breakthrough matters. The appointment of women to positions of judicial authority creates change from within and opens doors for those who will follow.

While women are now able to serve as judges in the Sharia Courts, this remains a right still denied to women in Israel’s Rabbinical Courts.

We welcome this important milestone and remain committed to advancing equality, representation, and opportunity for women. 💜

Mitzvah Membership Tea - Susan Neubauer

Our annual Membership Tea was held at the home of Carol Schoenkerman. Our gracious host not only served a standard black tea, but also a variety of herbal teas direct from her garden. Of course these were served by a variety of mini-sandwiches and sweets. Our newest members were honored and gifted with some NAAMAT swag. A video of all the wondrous activities of NAAMAT USA hopefully inspired our guests to join the chapter.
