Explosive Hazards Reduction Course - 12 of 13 students passed, 5 Afghan Police Force Instructors qualified to teach the course. The course will be taught solely by Afghan instructors by end of November. EOD or Explosive Ordinance Disposal is critical in the counter IED process... when Afghan Security Forces locate an explosive devise, they must be able to assess it first for evidence and then they will need to "get rid of it" on their terms by rendering the device safe and disposing of it by blowing it up per guidelines!

Transiting around Regional Command - East is possible thanks to the Combat Aviation Pilots and Gunners - MG Townsend and CSM Lewis are on a tight schedule and must travel many combat air miles to accomplish their missions.

I have visited countless boys schools over the years in Afghanistan, however this was the first time I had been able to visits a girls school. The Army mission was to assess improvements and to develop an education shura (meeting) that could be conducted in the future.

MISSION COMPLETE - A team waits for transport from FOB Fenty to Bagram Airbase as they begin their redeployment HOME!!! They have literally retrograded billions of dollars worth of military equipment - to include: Blackhawk helicopters, weapons systems and MRAP's all in just 7 months... A busy team!!!

Now at the ministerial level of government, General Campbell will be Commander of the International Security Assistance Force and U.S. Forces-Afghanistan.... this is his third tour of duty in Afghanistan... it was a privilege to speak with him.
