We were so happy to celebrate the joy of Christmas with over 300 families in our annual Navidad Con Obispo Brian Nunes event this past Saturday December 13th. During the COVID-19 pandemic, enhanced federal food assistance helped reduce food insecurity among low-income households to 28% by 2021. But those temporary boosts have ended—and rising costs have pushed food insecurity to 44%, surpassing even the pandemic peak. By 2024, 41% of low-income families in L.A. County were struggling to put food on the table, and nearly half of those households have children.

This Christmas, Catholic Charities San Gabriel Region is walking alongside these families—providing food, toys, rental assistance, diapers, clothing, utilities support, and hope. But we cannot do it without you.

Over 300 Eaton Fire Survivors participated in our Disaster Relief Event held this past Saturday at Sacred Heart Parish in Altadena. Survivors were able to sign up for our Disaster Aid Relief for Host Families program and case management. They were able to avail of back-to-school items, new clothing, shoes, toiletries, fruits and vegetables and more. We are thankful to our community partners American Red Cross Los Angeles Region, Catholic Charities USA, Celebration Nation, and Parishioners Federal Credit Union for providing donations and volunteers to support our Eaton Fire Recovery efforts.
