Today from 4-7pm a team will be at the Vallarta in Pacoima helping folks fill it out, so if you or anyone you know needs help filling it out feel free to stop by or send them to the location for assistance. Attached is the flyer with more information.
Remember that for each resident that completes the 2020 census it brings approximately $1,950 in federal funding per year. That is over $19,500 per person for the next 10 years! We can use the funds for our community to use in public transportation, schools, hospitals, law enforcement and fire department, and many other services.

We regret to inform you all with such a disappointment, the Pacoima Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade for 2020 has been cancelled due to the result of COVID-19. After our Governor Newsom’s restrictions and guidelines, we are unable to hold our Parade this year.
The health and well-being of our parade participants, guests, as well as our volunteer members, professional staff and partners, is our main concern.

Dear Neighbor,
Small businesses are an important asset to our local community, the Councilwoman is prioritizing improving business-officer relations through the Pacoima Business Watch Program. We are working with the Pacoima Chamber of Commerce and LAPD to outreach to our local business community about this program. The goal of this program is to foster and strengthen an ongoing relationship between local businesses and the LAPD Foothill Division. Our hope is that open communication between both parties will help to create a safer environment, increase emergency response times, and bring resources to address the issues our local businesses are facing.
Senior Lead Officers Steve Nuñez and Adriana Munguia will be with us to hear your concerns and priorities.

Pacoima is one of the San Fernando Valley’s most historic communities and sits on land that also was part of the Charles Maclay empire.
For many years, Pacoima’s fertile soil produced abundant crops of olives, peaches, apricots, oranges and lemons. In fact, the Pacoima Chamber of Commerce was originally called the Pacoima Chamber of Farmers. That was in 1916, a couple of years after the city had briefly changed its name to Mulholland.
William Mulholland was the engineer who brought prosperity to Pacoima and the rest of the Valley by transporting water from the Owens River through the Los Angeles Aqueduct. With the new water supply, farms and poultry ranches proliferated, and thoroughbred horses were raised. Two floods took their toll on the pre-World War II agricultural community, the first in 1891 and the second in 1938. Today residential Pacoima is enjoying a renaissance, thanks in part to the state’s designation as an Enterprise Zone.
