Celebrate the right to read with one of these picks or go to lapl.org/library-card/read-freely to instantly access digital copies of the most challenged books reported to the American Library Association (available to anyone in the United States ages 13 and up).

Highlights from our Banned Books Celebration with .reading.club and the amazing Paula Yoo 📚🎉

Teens created original artwork that will be sent as postcards with copies of banned books to Free Little Libraries in areas most impacted by book challenges in the United States. Shoutout to for generously providing these books and art supplies for today.

We also got to listen to Paula discuss her experience writing about critical moments in civil rights history, how it connects to present day censorship and book banning challenges, and what we can all do to make a difference. What an inspiring afternoon - thank you to all who participated!
