World Harvest Food Bank
World Harvest Food Bank is a non-profit organization serving families in Los Angeles and nearby cities.
We assist these families by providing basic food staples and other life necessities.
USE EVERY RESOURCE POSSIBLE!
I’ve been seeing people question the $50… especially because the food is rescued and donated. And honestly? Questioning systems is how we stay aware. But let’s also understand what we’re looking at.
Building infrastructure.
Food is not suppose to be survival while we are living in the richest country in the world. It’s stability. It’s what lets families breathe for a moment.
That $50 donation is what keeps everything running so people can return again and again with dignity. It keeps refrigerators and freezers on so food stays fresh. It fuels the trucks that pick up food daily. It maintains the equipment needed to move and store thousands of pounds of groceries. It supports volunteers who also receive a cart at no cost. And it sustains the staff who make this space feel human, safe, and consistent.
They’ve built this intentionally.
Show up consistently and on your sixth visit, your cart is free. That is what it looks like when a system is built with the people in mind.
The Cart With a Heart can feed a family of five for at least two weeks. No ID required. Just basic information. They accept EBT.
And if $50 isn’t accessible right now, you can volunteer for four hours and receive the same cart.
No one deserves to go hungry. Not here. Not anywhere.

Happy Mothers Day!
Chef ALex Garcia from shares the dish his mother made for him as a child.
She fed us first. We learned to cook by watching her.
This Mother’s Day, we want LA’s mothers to be able to build that same kitchen for their own kids.
Help us raise $10,000 to support food and Mother’s Day gifts for the families we serve.
Tag the woman who fed YOU first. Tell us the dish.

She fed us first. Now we give back.
For some of us, Mom is a complicated word. She may be gone, maybe she was never really there. Maybe the woman who fed you wasn’t your mother at all, but she set a plate for when you needed it. Mother’s Day can be tender. Some of us lost our mother‘s young. Some of us were raised by grandmothers, aunties, godmother’s, neighbors, foster parents, and fathers. Some of us are raising our own kids without a mother to call this Sunday. Some of us are the mothers and we miss our own. This Mother’s Day we want to honor every hand that fed you. Donate in any name - for any mother, named or unnamed. 🌷❤️🥰

This isn’t just numbers. It’s a Tuesday, Wednesday, and a Thursday, for thousands of mothers across Los Angeles right now. Donate link in our bio. Share this with someone who wants to make a difference. 🤔Is there a meal that makes you feel like a kid again the second that you smell it? 🌺 What meal is it?🍲

She fed us first.
Before we knew what ‘enough’ meant, she made sure we had it.
This Mother’s Day, World Harvest is raising $10,000 in 10 days so the mothers in our LA community don’t have to choose between groceries and rent. Most of the women we serve are mothers. All of them are doing the impossible math of rising grocery prices, rising gas prices, and SNAP benefits being cut at the same moment.
Will you give $25, $50, or whatever your heart can give?
Donate at the link in bio. Share this post. Tag the woman who fed you first.
