Valley Charter Elementary School Valley Charter Elementary School (VCES) is a free, parent-initiated public charter school.

Launched in September 2010, VCES continues to grow and commit itself to ensure that every student achieves success in his or her learning. We value community, diversity, responsibility, and academic excellence. Our classrooms are small, our environment warm, and our instruction dynamic. VCES serves the whole child and fosters in each student a lifelong commitment to intellectual exploration, individual growth, and social responsibility. We embrace, celebrate, and benefit from the ethnic, linguistic, and socioeconomic diversity of our community by promoting family, school, and community partnerships. Our emphasis on Project-Based Learning allows children to be actively involved in their own learning. Children are engaged in literacy through daily Readers' and Writers' Workshops. Singapore Math is used across the grade levels with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving and mathematics fluency. Our rigorous program emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and responsibility.

While the air conditioning in the sanctuary is being repaired, VCES assemblies have gone virtual! 🖥 Our Leaders of the Pack host from Room 6, and the new smartboards bring them live into every classroom. Classrooms tune in on Thursdays for announcements, reminders, and games.

Those smartboards were purchased this summer with funds raised by our school community last year. Thank you to every family who gave! Your support is keeping VCES students connected, even when we can’t all be in the same room!!
