A group of 50 SRO Housing clients/residents plus program staff worked alongside our community partners to make history this week. Community leaders including SRO Housing CEO Anita Nelson addressed the 5-member Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors as the board discussed adding a measure to the March ballot to dramatically increase funds to provide supportive services for homeless people. SRO Housing residents and staff demonstrated their visible, vocal support as Anita and other community leaders made their case during the public hearing. The Board agreed unanimously to add this measure to the March ballot. Let's all cast our vote in March to help end homelessness in Los Angeles!

MANY THANKS TO EIGBO, THE CITY EATS, SYLENT HEART, AND DJ PAUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT AT OUR HARVEST LUNCH AT THE RENATO APARTMENTS!
Members of the community came together last weekend to serve a special potluck Harvest Lunch at SRO Housing’s permanent supportive housing facility, the Renato Apartments. These wonderful volunteers brought all the food, rolled up their sleeves and served meals and smiles to our formerly homeless residents. Volunteers included a wonderful team from fashion and community service org EIGBO (“Everything Is Gonna Be Okay”) led by Genevieve Jackson and including Genevieve's cousin, Paris Jackson, and mom, Alejandra; volunteers from Sylent Heart were led by Toni Welch; The City Eats volunteers were led by Bianca Kunnuji. In addition to Paris and Genevieve, volunteers included drummer Michael Snoddy and singer/songwriter Dani’ Wright. As the event got underway, DJ Paul and his team arrived with several carloads of clothing from DJ Paul’s personal collection, which the volunteers then sorted, folded and gifted to participating residents. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers for your friendship and support of SRO Housing’s residents!
