Established in 1949 to serve the San Fernando Valley, the Knights of Columbus, Van Nuys Council has been and continues to be a pillar of the community.
We are the largest Council in the San Fernando Valley with over 260 active members. The Van Nuys Council is dedicated to being one of the most active and most vibrant councils in the state of California.

Van Nuys Council no. 3148 at 14450 Valerio Street will be hosting a free movie night on Tuesday January 27th, 2026 at 7 pm with free admission, hot dogs, candy and beverages for the film " Triumph of the Heart" about St. Maximilian Kolbe, the priest who volunteered to join 9 men in a starvation bunker at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Funeral Services for PGK Carl Fischer

With heavy hearts we mourn the passing of a giant of the Van Nuys Council, Carl Fischer. Carl was a 66 year Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus. Brother Carl served as Grand Knight of Van Nuys Council in 1986-87 and held various Council officer positions. He was also a member of the 4th Degree and served as the Past Faithful Navigator of Cardinal McIntyre Assembly 65 in 2006-07 and 2008-09. He was a U.S. Army veteran, avid tennis player and was involved with numerous volunteer work with local hospitals, Rancho San Antonio Boys Home and especially with Loaves and Fishes.
Many of you may remember when you saw Carl, you also saw his very close friend and Brother Knight, Jim De Getter (RIP). Lifetime friends since 7th grade, their families were two in one. Brother Carl will be with his best friend once again.
Carl was a member of the Neptune Society and his remains were cremated. There will be a military honor guard at the conclusion of the funeral services outside the church.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOSEPH GALBRAITH
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of brother Joseph Galbraith who left this life on December 17th, 2024.
His funeral service will occur at 11 AM on Thursday February 6th, 2025 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church at 13360 Valleyheart Drive in Sherman Oaks with reception sponored by the Knights of Columbus to follow at the parish hall.
Let us pay our final respects to brother Joe who dedicated his life to the service of our brothers and sisters who were in need in our community.
Rest in Peace worthy brother Sir Knight Joseph Galbraith.
