Over objections, L.A. City Council approves new voting districts
The L.A. City Council gave final approval to new boundaries for its 15 voting districts, over the objections of Korean-American activists and two council members who represent much of South Los Angeles.

Over 300 people came to West Angeles Church of God In Christ to help shape their community at the Southern Region redistricting hearing on February 11, 2012. Attendees provided testimony about neighborhoods throughout the City including: Leimert Park, Baldwin Hills, Baldwin Vista, Little Ethiopia, Westchester, Hollywood, Van Nuys, Watts, CD 8, CD 9, CD 10, CD 11, & more.

Over 300 Angelenos came to the LACCRC East Valley hearing at Walter Reed Middle School on February 9, 2012. Attendees provided feedback on the draft City Council map and spoke about communities throughout the San Fernando Valley including: Sherman Oaks, Toluca Lake, Studio City, The Foothill Communities, Van Nuys, Panorama City, and Encino.
