Under Chief Lauretta Hill's leadership, DPS is one of the largest campus law enforcement agencies
The primary goal of DPS is to provide a safe and secure environment in which the social and academic endeavors of the University community may be fully realized. To achieve this goal, the department needs cooperation and support from students, staff and faculty in reporting incidents, utilizing the services the department provides and adhering to basic crime prevention practices. We appreciate you

The USC Department of Public Safety stands in remembrance of our fallen heroes and extends gratitude for the legacy they leave behind.
🚔📚 USC DPS Officers were proud to join Fullerton PD, Placentia PD, Newport Beach PD, and Vernon PD at Robert C. Fisler School Career Day!
Students got a hands-on look at patrol vehicles, police equipment, and the many career opportunities in law enforcement. Most importantly, it gave us the chance to connect with students and share what it means to serve our communities. 👮♂️👮♀️
Thank you to Robert C. Fisler School for having us — we loved meeting the next generation of leaders. Who knows… some future officers may have been in attendance today! 💙

Officers discovered the vehicle’s ignition had been tampered with, and a records check confirmed it was stolen. DPS officers contacted the owner and successfully reunited them with their vehicle.

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Observed during National Police Week, this day serves as a solemn reminder of the courage and dedication of those who gave their lives to keep our communities safe.
The USC DPS Honor Guard stands united, representing law enforcement and paying tribute to the fallen alongside our brothers and sisters across the nation.
We remember USC DPS Officer Lawrence Keith, whose name is forever etched on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, alongside more than 23,000 officers who gave their lives in service to others.
We will never forget their sacrifice.
