Be prepared.

When the background investigation begins, you will be required to provide these original documents to your background investigator:
- Valid California driver license
- DMV H-6, 10-year driving record
- Birth certificate
- Social security card
- 10-year work history (obtain in person from your local Social Security office)
- Vehicle insurance policy declaration page (listing coverage... and limits of liability)
- Official High School Transcripts (sealed) and/or G.E.D. Certificate
- Official College Transcripts (sealed)

If applicable:
- Marriage Certificate
- Dissolution of Marriage court documents
- Selective Service Card or printout from website (males only - www.sss.gov)
- Separation from Military Document (DD214)
- Certificate of U.S. Citizenship, if born outside of U.S.
- Passport, if you already have one issued
- EDD report, if you've ever collected unemployment benefits
