Halloween season is here, and Los Angeles is going all out. From spooky scavenger hunts in Little Tokyo to trick-or-treating at the L.A. Zoo, costume contests at Union Station, and more, there are plenty of ways to celebrate. Metro can get you to all of it. Here's what's haunting L.A. this October and November.

Heads up, D Line riders: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega stations will be temporarily closed for maintenance work at Wilshire/La Brea. The stations are scheduled to reopen at 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2.

During the closure, D Line trains will run between Union Station and Wilshire/Western. Shuttle buses (Line 855) will replace trains and connect Wilshire/Western with all three closed stations. The shuttle buses will run every 10 minutes. Line 855 shuttle in both directions will stop in front of the station entrance at Wilshire/La Cienega.

Metro Bus Lines 20 and 720 will continue to run along Wilshire Boulevard with stops at each of the three stations.

If riding during these dates, please allow extra travel time.

Why is this work needed?

Electrical equipment needs to be installed at Wilshire/La Brea Station. To perform this work safely, power to the entire station must be temporarily shut down.

Metro installed temporary electrical equipment at the station to open the three new stations this past May. Crews will now install the permanent electrical equipment that will support long-term operations and maintenance.

Metro will also use the closure to connect systems and complete other work needed for the next D Line extension to Beverly Hills and Century City.

One other service issue to keep in mind: B and D Line are running every 20 minutes on select weekends beginning Oct. 10–11 (work will not occur on holiday wknds). The work is to install communications systems and perform track maintenance. Check http://alerts.metro.net for updates.

Regularly scheduled activities at Wilshire/Fairfax will continue, including the Tuesday farmers market, Bake to the Future on Oct. 25 and LATINAfest at Metro: Día de los Mu***os on Halloween.
Activities at Wilshire/La Brea will pause during the closure and resume when the station reopens.

The Metro Art Culture Pass remains valid during the closure. You can reach participating Miracle Mile museums on either the shuttle buses or Metro Bus Lines 20 and 720. The Culture Pass's perks run through April 30, 2027 – so there's plenty of time to enjoy them.

Ride the B Line to Hollywood/Highland Station to reach the TCL Chinese Theatre. The theater is a short walk away.

Parking is available at North Hollywood and Universal City/Studio City on the B Line.

Take Metro C or K Lines and exit at either:
– C Line: Hawthorne/Lennox Station

With over 38,000 daily boardings, it’s time Lines 204 and 754 get their own lane.
 
And, this morning, work began to make that happen. 
 
The 12.4-mile stretch of Vermont Ave between Sunset Bl and 120th St will have its own dedicated bus lanes, providing more frequent and dependable bus service for the densely populated, diverse, and transit-dependent neighborhoods along the route.  
  
Each section of lane will become a bus-only lane as soon as it is striped, and by 2028, the 12.4-mile stretch will become a BRT line with:
Transit signal priority   
All-door boarding for faster passenger loading    
Bus bulbs at most stations to extend station/pedestrian area and shorter crossings for improved safety 
Enhanced stations with seating, shelters, ADA elements, lighting for improved safety and security, trash bins, realtime bus information displays, and emergency call buttons
