This October, we're reminded that survivors deserve more than awareness. They deserve action. The 2026 Domestic Violence Awareness Month theme, "With Survivors, Always," calls on all of us to show up consistently and compassionately for survivors in our communities.
Being with survivors means listening without judgment, fostering healthy relationships, advocating for change, and helping ensure that support remains accessible to everyone who needs it.
At Peace Over Violence, we stand with survivors every day, not only during October, but always. Together, we can build communities where survivors are supported, heard, and empowered.

Honoring Patti Giggans: After more than four decades of extraordinary service to Peace Over Violence and the movement to end sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence, Patti Giggans is retiring as Executive Director, effective September 30, 2026.

Patti’s leadership, advocacy, vision, unwavering commitment to survivors and her impact on Peace Over Violence and this movement will be felt for generations to come.
