While allowing the homeless to sleep in parking lots may improve safety for both those without shelter and communities with large homeless populations, it does not address the underlying issues that cause homelessness, like a lack of affordable housing.

PG&E customers aren't the only ones being hit by wildfire precautions. LAPD plans to clean homeless camps in high risk fire-prone areas with the coming Santa Ana winds, which greatly increases the chance of fires.
