On January 31st 2025 BABCNC founding board member Don Loze passed away, leaving behind decades of work on the protection of the hillsides, which culminated in Council File 11-1441-S1, the Ridgeline Protection Ordinance.

We're getting near the end of this storm, but winter is still ahead of us with more storms to come.

To help City of Los Angeles residents prepare for rainstorm needs, the Los Angeles Fire Department provides free ready-to-fill sandbags year-round at all Neighborhood Fire Stations, with sand* also available for free at select locations, as seasonal conditions warrant. Please note that the LAFD is prepared to provide up to 25 free sandbags per household, but the Department is not able to fill, deliver, install or remove sandbags.

The Department of City Planning has scheduled two new important online meetings in the Wildlife Ordinance. The first meeting presents an opportunity to ask questions and get information about the intent and application of the ordinance. This meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28th from 5-7 pm.
The Planning Department hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 13th from 5-7 pm.
