Last night some of our family proudly celebrated my father, Rev. Douglas R. Wright Sr., as he retires after 45 years of faithful pastoral ministry. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

For 45 years, he has faithfully answered Godโ€™s call by serving churches, communities, families, and individuals with love, humility, and excellence. He has preached the Gospel, mentored leaders, visited the sick and shut-in, fed the homeless, helped families in crisis, paid mortgages and car notes for those in need, welcomed displaced family members into his home, raised five children, served as a foster parent for more than 20 years, educated students as a teacher, built businesses, and demonstrated what servant leadership truly looks like.

Today, we also honor the woman who has faithfully stood beside him throughout this remarkable journey, his Queen, Rosalind Wright. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‘ Together, they have modeled faith, commitment, sacrifice, and unconditional love. Dad would be the first to acknowledge that many of the lives he impacted and the accomplishments he achieved would not have been possible without the unwavering support, wisdom, strength, and partnership of Mom by his side.

Their legacy extends far beyond the walls of a church. Their lives have been a ministry to family, friends, neighbors, and communities for generations.

Dad, as you enter this new chapter, know that retirement is not an ending, it is a transition into a season of greater freedom, renewed purpose, and well-deserved enjoyment. You have spent decades serving others. Now it is time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, embrace new adventures, create new memories, and continue making an impact in ways that bring you joy.

We celebrate you today, and we will continue to celebrate you throughout the entire month of June! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ

We love you. We honor you. We celebrate you. โค๏ธ

โ€œTotal Praiseโ€ by Richard Smallwood is more than just a song to meโ€ฆ it is a reminder that God will carry you through every season of life. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝโœจ

For every educator, parent, student, leader, or person silently fighting battles you never speak about publiclyโ€ฆ keep going. Some days are heavy. Some days the assignment feels overwhelming. Yet somehow, by the grace of God, you keep showing up. โค๏ธ

Teachers pour into students while carrying their own challenges behind the scenes. Some are battling grief, sickness, exhaustion, depression, financial hardship, or emotional pain, yet they continue to teach, encourage, and love children every single day. That takes strength. That takes faith. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ“š

I know what it feels like to survive difficult moments in life and wonder how you will move forward. But I also know what it means for God to keep you, restore you, and give you purpose again. That is why I sing with conviction. Not for performanceโ€ฆ but as a testimony that God still sustains His people. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

As you watch this moment from our end-of-year school concert, I pray you are reminded that no matter what you are facing, you are not alone. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Keep going. ๐ŸŒŸ
