Advocating for the reuse of the Roxie on Broadway. Seating 1600, the Roxie was the last theatre built in the Broadway Theatre district in 1931.
Designed by architect J.M. Cooper, it sits on the site of the razed Quinn's Superba Theatre. It's Art Deco charm makes it different from the rest of the bunch on Broadway - and one of the largest reasons for saving. The Roxie was equipped for live stage performances (including a pipe organ), but its long, narrow auditorium was intended primarily for motion picture display. In the 1980's it ran as
