We laugh and cry, in shades of light and gray,
Each tear a pearl, to brighten up the day.
Though shadows loom, we find the guiding star,
And reach for dreams, no matter how far.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Through the darkness, there came a light
Though so far but yet so bright.
I close my eyes and look deep insight..
I walk this darkness without a fright.

I clutch this image like a precious sight,
The one that sets my heart alight.
I hold that thought and now I write,
With the thought of us on this night.

I travel this road to find affection
I now edge closer and taste perfection.
The darkness evades, I've found protection
I reach this light to build my connection.

My strength has now so briskly grown,
I no longer feel I travel alone.
I continue to proceed on this empty path,
The wait is long but I show no wrath.

The star may seem so far away,
I set fourth my travels to meet that day.
I hold my faith and wait these years,
So far I've come, its worth those tears.

I stand, I sit and now I stare,
I look beyond me and see you there.
I've found the light and now I smile,
I've found my strength to crawl this mile.

I accept love like its my treat,
The thought is real, I'm now complete.
I hear sweet voices in my head,
They say my path is clear ahead.

Some just try but yet they fail,
The unconditional love that we prevail.
I had my freedom, I made this choice,
I found my love, I now rejoice.

I never believed I'd find this love,
Like that beautiful star from above.
I questioned love and what I feel
With you I learnt my love is real

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

An Old Person left alone
No means of support in an empty rented home
The future not thought of
The past ever near
Thoughts no longer needed
Memories of yesteryear
An Old Person dressed in rags
Never enough money and none saved away
Friends and neighbours seem so far away
People who mean well just don't stay
An Old Person
At life's end
No longer the strength or willingness
To make things mend
No sense of hope
With no belief
A time of thought
And not much sleep
An Old Person left alone

life is life, however it would go
love is love, no matter what would occur
love is growing more with every hearts beat
feelings of my heart could never change
love is life, life is love
you can enjoy them as much as you want....

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.

Life's a gift for you to send
Life's a gift for god to end
Life's a gift now you're with me
Life's a gift for all to see
Life's a gift when love is true
Life's a gift when times look blue
Life's a gift with the one you trust
Life's a gift even if UN just
Life's a gift a ray of sun
Life's a gift though your heads held to a gun
