The chemical tanks at GKN Aerospace are still not stable, but a large explosion is less likely according to officials. Meanwhile, displaced residents are still feeling the burden of hotel price gouging and returning to work tomorrow in the midst of this man-made crisis.

Join us at the City Council meeting at the Community Meeting Center tomorrow, May 26 at 5:30PM to address the crisis and come together as a community to demand more of our officials!

40,000 OC residents are living under uncertainty right now with no clear timeline from the state or local government on when they can return home. We demand clear communication from the city on what is being done to control the situation. Currently, all 5 evacuation shelters are full, leaving displaced residents sleeping in their cars. We need hotel vouchers so our people can stay housed during this emergency. End the exploitative rate hikes!

As the evacuation zone for an expected chemical explosion expands for the residents of Garden Grove and many other cities in Orange County, local authorities have proved to be unhelpful with relocating residents and making sure they have shelter. Most residents were not aware of the existence of such a hazardous chemical plant in their vicinity, greenlit by our elected officials who continue to pocket profits from serving corporations. We demand the city to take the action needed to actually show up for and protect its residents.

As the situation in Garden Grove continues to worsen, residents are still not receiving adequate support from city and county officials. It is more clear than ever that we NEED a society that centers working class peoples’ needs.

There’s chaos in Orange County right now as 40k people are made to evacuate their homes due to a dangerous chemical leak at an aerospace plant.

Thousands of residents of Garden Grove, California have been evacuated from their homes due to an aerospace plant chemical leak. The plant, located in a mostly working class latino neighborhood is a supplier for the military industrial complex.

Right now, they await for a potential explosion.
