"The LA County Board of Supervisors will be voting on a motion this week that provides permanent, supportive housing for elders impacted by COVID-19! The motion, authored by Supervisors Mark Ridley-Thomas and Janice Hahn directs LA County to develop a "strategy to provide longterm housing options to individuals experiencing homelessness who are aged 65 year or older and were provided emergency housing based on the COVID-19 emergency public health declaration." JusticeLA continues to advocate for immediate and long-term care for our most vulnerable populations, including our elders. As the number of people in our jails continues to plummet, people transitioning out of incarceration will need emergency and permanent housing to stay safe from COVID-19.
