As homelessness among older adults continues to rise, so does the need for everyday essentials that help preserve health, comfort, and dignity.

Thanks to a generous donation of adult diapers, The Midnight Mission can help meet an often-overlooked need for our neighbors.

For older adults experiencing homelessness, access to basic hygiene supplies can make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

We were grateful to join Inner City Law Center and so many dedicated community partners for Skid Row Community Connect Day, helping connect 235 of our neighbors with essential services and resources.

Every step forward is better when we take it together!

We're excited to see new members from The Midnight Mission joining the Skid Row Running Club, where running and walking are about so much more than miles.

It's about building confidence, finding community, encouraging one another, and discovering what's possible when you keep moving forward.

Whether it's your first walk or your hundredth run, every step matters, and everyone belongs.

Tuesday evening, our CCO Georgia Hawley was at City Hall for the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council (DLANC) Board of Directors meeting.

When organizations come together, communities grow stronger.

At The Midnight Mission, our commitment to serving others extends beyond our own doors. By sharing surplus items with valued community partners like .socal, we help ensure essential resources continue making a difference.

Founded in 2008, DESI supports families with children and young adults with developmental disabilities, providing valuable resources and support.

Through partnerships like this, we can reduce waste, extend the reach of donated goods, and help more individuals and families throughout our community.

Because when we share resources, we multiply our impact.

His name is Anthony.

He wrote us a letter. In his words:

“At The Midnight Mission, I found more than support. I found a family that has stood beside me and encouraged me to keep moving forward… I have learned that I do not have to face life’s challenges alone.”

Anthony credits his mentor, his work therapy coworkers, and his advocate for walking with him through recovery, and he puts his sobriety first every day.

Every person has a name. Every name has a story. And every story matters.

Behind every number is a name. Behind every name is a story.

As conversations about homelessness in Los Angeles focus on statistics, budgets, and solutions, we want to bring the conversation back to the people at the heart of it.

At The Midnight Mission, we know them as Angela, Ernesto, Xavier, Brian, Nancy, Alberta, and Francis. They are our neighbors, and their voices deserve to be heard.

That's why we're launching Names, Not Numbers, a storytelling campaign that puts the people of Skid Row at the center of the conversation.

In the coming weeks, you'll hear their stories in their own words. You may discover that while our circumstances are different, our struggles, hopes, and dreams are not so different after all.
