The first CicLAvia of the year is in the books! Yesterday was a perfect sunny Sunday enjoying four miles of open streets connecting West Adams to University Park.

Thanks to our Traffic Officers and Special Traffic Operations teams for making the day a success, and to everyone who stopped by LADOT to learn more about our Safe Routes for Seniors: Expo/Crenshaw Neighborhood Plan.

Mark your calendars for the first CicLAvia of 2025! CicLAvia: West Adams Meets University Park will be bringing four miles of open streets to Jefferson Blvd on Sunday, February 23, from 9am - 3pm! This free, family-friendly event is a perfect chance to explore LA and enjoy a day of people-powered mobility. See you there!

The last CicLAvia of the year is in the books! The 57th open streets event and the last of the 2024 season opened up five miles of Sherman Way in the Valley on Sunday for biking, walking, gathering, and celebrating.

There will be family-friendly activities, entertainment, and a group bike ride to explore the new street design. Don’t forget to bring your bike, helmet, and water—or borrow one of the limited supply bikes!

In honor of the Dodgers-Yankees World Series, we’re taking it back to the 1980s! Our DASH service was launched in 1985 with buses that looked like this. Back then, DASH only served downtown. Now, our fleet is modernized and we serve 27 routes, but one thing from the early 80s remains the same: the Los Angeles Dodgers will be the World Series Champions!

Another iconic CicLAvia in the books! Thanks to all who came out to walk, roll, dance, and celebrate on over 7 miles of Open Streets connecting Echo Park, DTLA, Chinatown, and Boyle Heights. There's only one more CicLAvia left in 2024, so don't miss out! Join us 12/8 for CicLAvia: The Valley!

LADOT recently joined with Council District 14 and City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering to cut the ribbon on the 4th and Clarence Active Transportation Project in Boyle Heights! This project makes it easier and safer for residents to connect with the 6th St Viaduct and future park improvements planned for under the bridge with a new traffic signal, pedestrian lighting, sidewalk repairs, new trees, and more.

Thanks to the leadership of CD 14 for making these improvements happen.

LADOT is helping the City of LA close the gap on its electrification goals! After breaking ground in July, last week installation began on the first EV chargers at Hyde Park Miriam Matthews Library in South LA. In addition to the four chargers at this location, 12 chargers will be installed over the next few months at Vernon, Ascot, and Junipero Serra libraries. These new chargers are part of LADOT's Universal Basic Mobility (UBM) pilot program, ensuring that South LA residents have access to affordable EV charging. ⚡

As part of LADOT's Universal Basic Mobility pilot, we are installing 100+ EV chargers in South LA. ⚡️ With our partners at LALights - Bureau of Street Lighting help us decide where to put more streetlight chargers. Take this brief survey at ladot.lacity.gov/ubm

California Climate Investments

The Hollywood Blvd bike lanes are underway! This transformative project aims to make this iconic LA street safer for all with new parking protected bike lanes from Gower to Lyman.
