I recently started doing therapy and I'm really enjoying it. It's a great way to help others in a more direct route. I noticed that a few of the clients I'm working with could benefit from practicing gratitude, writing nice things about themselves and meditation... so, I decided I would incorporate those things into my life as well. The biggest hurdle is going to be meditation. I never could get my mind to stop enough to do it. But, I've heard nothing but benefits to it, so.. here is to giving it a shot.

Manifestation
I'm sure you've heard of someone saying they "manifested" it to happen... have you ever wondered what they meant?
According to the dictionary, manifestation is: an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.
One way to think about manifestation is our self-talk. I know for myself, I'm not always the nicest to me when I talk to myself. Does anyone else relate?
Anyways. I figured that since September is here ... I'm going to try to focus on manifesting a few things. This month I am going to say nice things to myself and try to be a good self cheerleader.
I've got a couple goals this month that I'm focused on: turning my photography into a true business and getting my first therapy client.

Sometimes, we think that in order to do something fornself-care, it needs to be big! ... but the reality is it doesn't.. and we don't always have the time or the money for something big.. there are tons of small things that we can do in order to focus on ourselves and our health. And they're small enough to do on a regular basis.
What did you do today? Me... I've enjoyed a homemade white chocolate latte.

Time. Time is a gift and sometimes we don't value it in the midst of the daily rush.
Give yourself the gift of time today. What are you going to do for yourself?
Go for a walk? Take a break for lunch? Read that book you've been putting aside?

I found this quote last night. First thing I noticed is how this quote is not only related to photography, but also our own mental health. We typically put limitations on ourselves in a variety of ways.. one being we are scared (there are always systematic barriers as well)...

Hello! I've had this page for quite a while. My main goal was to share about how photography and social work is connected. I plan to still do that with this page, but also to provide information related to social work. Just like life, nothing is perfect and this page won't be.
