The Lincoln Park Unhoused and Public Safety Committee convened for its monthly meeting in February to address ongoing safety concerns impacting Lincoln Park and the AIDS Monument.

Following last year’s vandalism to the AIDS Monument, Richard Zaldivar brought together public officials and community stakeholders to strengthen coordination and accountability.

The Wall continues to meet at Plaza de la Raza alongside representatives from:
• Los Angeles City Council District 14
• The Office of Councilmember Jurado
• Mayor’s Office of Los Angeles
• Los Angeles City Park Rangers
• Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks
• Community-based nonprofit leaders

These monthly meetings focus on:
• Addressing crime and safety concerns
• Responding to unhoused encampments
• Protecting the integrity of the AIDS Monument

We remain committed to safeguarding this historic site and holding the City accountable for protecting our national treasure.

In 1998, The Wall Las Memorias stepped in when an AIDS hospice in Tijuana faced closure and uncertainty.

Through collaboration and persistence, the hospice reopened, launching a partnership that continues more than 27 years later.
Today, Albergue Las Memorias serves over 150 residents with dignity and care.

We are proud to stand alongside our partners in this legacy.
