AGBU AYA San Fernando Valley Scouts

Today we celebrate the anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia! 🇦🇲 The Battle of Sardarabad in May 1918 showed the strength, courage, and unity of the Armenian people. 💪🏼 Just two days after the victory at Sardarabad, on May 28, 1918, the Armenian National Council declared the independence of the Democratic Republic of Armenia.
Today, we honor this important moment in Armenian history and celebrate the spirit and resilience of our nation. On behalf of our scouting troop, Happy Independence Day, Armenia! 🥳❤️💙🧡

In 2019, our troop, alongside our sister troop AGBU Pasadena Glendale Scours, had the opportunity to visit the Sardarabad Memorial and pay our respects to the heroes who fought for Armenia’s independence. It was a meaningful experience that connected us even to our history. ❤️

Congratulations to Y. Emeen on completing his Eagle Scout project, and becoming our troops 33rd Eagle Scout! 🦅🎉 He constructed multiple garden beds and grew new vegetation inside the Granada Hills Salad Bowl Club Community Garden. 🪴🪏His work created a beautiful garden for the community to use for years to come!

On May 3rd, Y. Dylan successfully completed his Eagle Scout Project at the Lockhurst Drive Kindergarten Playground! 🎉🛝 His project included refurbishing benches, building and filling planters, and constructing a toy chest for the kindergarten students. 🌱🧸
A big thank you to everyone who came out and supported Y. Dylan on his journey to Eagle Rank! 🙌✨

We remember those before us with deep respect and carry on the heritage placed in the hands of every generation.
Our scouts participated at the A.G.B.U. schoolwide observance of honoring the 111th remembrance of the Armenian Genocide and the Commemorative Candle Light Vigil Service at St. Leon’s Armenian Cathedral on April 23, honoring the Armenian Genocide with remembrance, unity, and pride.

Not to miss, a joyful parent-child culinary experience designed to bring families together through the art of cooking. Guided by Chef Lena Artunian of Hye Feast LA, parents and children will work side-by-side to prepare delicious dishes while learning simple culinary techniques, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories. This hands-on experience celebrates family bonding, creativity, and the joy of food in a warm and welcoming community setting.

4TH ANNUAL SCOUTS DAY 🤩 We are very excited to announce that our 4th Annual Scouts Day will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 10 am - 3 pm. This is a day full of fun, games, vendors, food, Camporee style competitions and more! It will be held at AGBU and tickets will be on sale March 28th and April 11th ONLY ☺️‼️ No exceptions ‼️ Scouts are $40 and Guests are $20! We encourage all scouts to participate as it is a competition between each patrol. They must display teamwork in order to win🥇 Invite friends and family to cheer on our scouts and have a fun day all together! 🥳 Cash vendors available during the event.
