Built in 1915, this 8 unit Mediterranean/Minimalist style bungalow court was constructed for Harry Jackins, a real estate agent and his daughter, Dorothy. The family was to live in the main building for a number of years. The Jackins hired contractor Charles Dickie Goldthwaite to design and build the court. What are the owners of this property doing with it? Why did they evict everyone beginning in 2014 and demolish the buildings while tenants lived there, lest tenant forced out in 2017? What responsibility do they owe the public for this hazardous blight both on the property itself and including unsafe conditions on the public sidewalk? Photos taken 10/14/21.

Here is a link to the LA Department of Building and Safety showing permits regarding the property at 521-527 Carondelet. It was 6 years ago that a new owner began evicting everyone on this property.
