The Los Angeles Promise Zone initiative aims to build sustainable, livable communities by reducing and ending local homelessness--empowering this vulnerable community of individuals, youth, families, and veterans. (LAPZ Strategic Plan 4.1)
With 28% of the nation's unaccompanied homeless youth residing in California, there is still much work to be done in the upcoming year.

Last week Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell joined the Youth Policy Institute and Vons Supermarket to launch the Los Angeles Promise Zone (LAPZ) FINI project, designed to increase access to affordable, healthy, locally grown produce for low-income residents who participate in CalFresh.

"Your Money, Your Goals" Toolkit Training - Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
Staff & volunteers working with unbanked communities are invited to this free train-the-trainer event on financial topics such as cash flow, credit, debt, banking and consumer protection. You'll also gain financial assessment strategies and explore the influences of culture, emotion and values in making financial decisions.
