Station 15 has primary responsibility for fires, medical aids, vehicle accidents, technical rescues, hazardous materials incidents, natural disasters and public service assistance for residents throughout the Los Osos Community Services District, Turri Road, Clark Valley Road and for visitors throughout Montana de Oro and the Back Bay. t, Station 15-South Bay has exceptional support to maintain four personnel, with at least two serving as paramedics all day and night, 24-7. The permanent Station 15-South Bay staff includes a 25-year veteran Battalion Chief, three Fire Captain Paramedics with a combined 50 years of Los Osos Community emergency service knowledge and experience, and four Engineers and Paramedics with a combined 30 years of paramedic and fire service experience. Together, these professionals continuously staff a paramedic fire engine (Medic Engine-15) and a paramedic rescue squad (Medic Rescue-15). The Community of Los Osos is further supported by a committed reserve company known as the South Bay Reserve Firefighters. The South Bay Reserve Company is comprised of 25 local men and women from the community that have successfully completed the San Luis Obispo County Volunteer Firefighter Academy and work together to cover 12 or 24 hour shifts everyday to fill the fourth firefighter’s seat. The South Bay Reserve Company will also respond from home or work to an emergency within the District to staff a reserve fire engine (Engine 215) in the event Medic Engine-15 or Medic Rescue-15 become committed to an incident. Other equipment at Station 15-South Bay available for emergency response are: Engine 3464, a CAL FIRE Type-III fire engine primarily used for vegetation fire attack; Utlity-15 (U15), a Ford 250 truck owned by the LOCSD used for w**d abatement, hydrant maintenance and towing Trench Trailer-15 (TT-15), a trailer equipped with necessary tools and materials to affect a trench rescue and Rescue Water Craft-15 (RWC-15), a Yamaha WaveRunner owned by SLO County Fire to affect water rescues along the northern Central Coast.
